Farmer Dies Due to Wild Elephant Attack

A farmer from Koppa, Shivappa (72), died after being attacked by a wild elephant at night in Dabbadka, Chembu village. On hearing the news, State Wildlife Board member Sanket Poovaiah, acting on the instructions of the Virajpet MLA, rushed to the Sampaje Hospital where the body was kept and collected details about the incident.

After speaking with locals, Sanket Poovaiah informed the MLA and assured that the department would immediately initiate the legal process to capture the wild elephant in that area. He promised that permission for capture would be granted soon. He instructed the Forest  Department to immediately carry out an elephant-driving operation and assured that additional personnel would be provided to the department.

Zonal Congress President Raviraj Hosur, Social Media District President Suraj Hosur, Gram Panchayat members Adam Kumhi, Padmanabha Mangalapare, Raghunath Balambi, Vinaya Manikallu, Koppada Shivaram, Koppada Bhuvaneshwar, Zonal Forest Officer, staff members, and doctors were present on the occasion.
