Ajjamada Ramesh Kuttappa, State Vice-President of the Karnataka Working Journalists Association, stated that society has high expectations of the media and its role in shaping public discourse. Inaugurating the annual endowment fund award and releasing the Silver Jubilee Commemorative Issue of the Kushalnagar Hobli Working Journalists Association, he emphasized the media’s responsibility to focus on credible reporting that benefits society.
He added that journalists must adopt modern technology, pursue investigative stories to their logical conclusion, and avoid focusing on self-promoting individuals. He urged journalists to highlight issues relevant to society.

Shakti Daily Editor G. Chidvilas spoke about the maturity that comes with experience and called for a focus on allowing genuine journalists to join media organizations. He advocated for the ban on plastic bottles in Kushalnagar, akin to Madikeri.
B.R. Savita Rai, President of the Kodagu District Working Journalists Association, spoke about the dwindling interest in quality reporting. He called for more follow-up stories and for a commitment to seeing investigations through to a conclusion.
M.N. Chandramohan, President of the Kushalnagar Taluk Working Journalists Association, presided over the program, with Vanitha Chandramohan, District Association Treasurer Anand Kodagu, and National Council of Journalists Member Sunil Ponneti in attendance. Secretary Nagaraj Shetty welcomed the gathering, Director T.R. Prabhudev conducted proceedings, and Raghu Hebbale proposed the vote of thanks.
