Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda stated that regular yoga practice promotes physical and mental well being. Speaking at the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations held at the Gowda Samaja Hall in Madikeri, under the theme “One Earth, One Health,” he emphasized that yoga improves overall fitness and mental resilience.

District AYUSH Officer Dr. Shailaja added that daily yoga or exercise can aid in managing illnesses such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Yoga Instructor Mahesh Kumar demonstrated various asanas, including Surya Namaskar, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Urdhvasana, Ardha Matsendrasana, and more. Madikeri City Municipal Council Vice President Mahesh Jaini, Urban Development Authority Chairman Rajesh Yallappa, ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, District Superintendent of Police K. Ramarajan, Additional District Commissioner R. Aishwarya, Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narvade, Education Officer Doddegowda, and others were present.
The celebration was organized in collaboration with the District Administration, Z P, AYUSH, and a range of government and non-governmental organizations.
