District In-Charge Secretary Dr. N.V. Prasad chaired a review meeting in Madikeri, focusing on the distribution of benefits by various departments including the Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department, Social Welfare, ITDP, and Skill Development.
He instructed officials to ensure that all tribal families living in line houses, including Kudiyas, are issued Aadhar cards and provided access to government schemes.
Dr. Prasad emphasized the need for progress in housing schemes such as Basava, Ambedkar, and Indira Awas Yojana. He also insisted that Road Safety Committee meetings be held monthly and that discussions with the Tribal Welfare Department be conducted regarding Aadhar card distribution.
District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Sathish Kumar reported vacancies in health centers: 2 in Primary Health Centres, 16 in Community Health Centres, and 12 in the General Department. He noted the challenge of attracting officials to these positions.
Nataraju from the Women and Child Development Department shared that 1,16,772 beneficiaries are currently enrolled under the Grahalakshmi Yojana.
The Secretary also reviewed infrastructure projects, including the Shanivarasanthe bus stand and the Kushalnagar bus depot. KSRTC Unit Manager Mehboob Ali reported that both projects will be completed by September.
Food Department representative Kumuda Sharath confirmed that 10 kg of rice is being distributed under the Anna Bhagya Yojana.
Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja, ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya, Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narvade, and various department heads provided updates on departmental progress and challenges.
