WITHOUT MALICE TOWARDS ANY OR NONE
Coming to Kamal Haasan and his Kannada jibe, talking about one language or faith being older than the other is not new. In private circles, we indulge in this fun all the time, knowing pretty well that none of us are historians or research scholars.
Kamal Haasan wanted media coverage and centre stage just before his new movie release. With his recent flops, he has this fear and must have planned this language controversy. There is also a suspicion that the ones who took it to the media are also complicit in this whole drama. We in Karnataka fell into this trap. Instead of ignoring the whole episode and giving it a silent burial, our media and local organization revolted, screamed, scrambled and brought it to national debate and fame.
What could have been smoothly blunted became a key issue of national importance. Core policy deficit, Siddaramiah’s dysfunctional government, went to the back burner, thanks to Kamal Haasan.
World-over, the literate, positive-WOKEs have given up on national and humanistic issues. Everyone thinks politics is corrupt and dirty and the world is in the hands of the not-so-busy, not-so-informed, not-so-competent street mob.
We have to brace ourselves for a very turbulent decade or more.
Kamal Haasan and Prakash Raj have always found a way to be in the news whenever their careers sag. Kamal Haasan’s Dashavatharam hit the last nail in his coffin. His 10 roles and self-importance throughout the movie and his frequent nonsense utterances threw him out of his broad fanbase. He then jumped into electoral politics only to lose and is now trying a backdoor entry into Rajyasabha through the DMK.
DMK is always the last resort to revive the fortunes of anyone who is openly anti-Hindu, anti-Hindi, anti-nation and seeds Tamil national identity. This is despite most of the people in the state being patriotic and broad. DMK wins because this party understands the pulse of the people, and has somehow found the fine balance between freebies, industry-friendly policy, flourishing manufacturing sector, and relatively better administration. This has also helped them cover up the rampant corruption and sectarian rhetoric.
AIADMK and the BJP have failed to impress the common voters even though the BJP has made deep inroads under Annamalai’s leadership.
There are all chances that the BJP-AIADMK combine will win the coming state elections.
Political Debates, cricket/film frenzy, misplaced societal role models, language, religion, caste wars, extremism and expansionist agenda, and divisive groups will be in the front not just in India, but across the world. Love, Life, Kindness to all living beings and nature, the joy of a bonded family, unification of mankind, simplistic and minimalistic living aligning with mother nature, Good governance, eradication of corruption, fair and swift judiciary, quality education blending modernity and values will lose out.
Whether we evolved from a monkey or a frog, what we are today matters. Darwin must be laughing in his grave. He didn’t imagine that beasts evolved from humans!
