Rangadhamappa, Deputy Director of the School Education Department, advised that the government’s directive regarding the survey of Scheduled Caste families should be followed strictly and informed to perform their duty perfectly according to the instructions which were given to them.
Teachers who have been assigned as surveyors have to perform an important duty as surveyors and should actively participate and complete the survey faithfully.
Before conducting a social and educational survey, they should meet the elders and important people in the area assigned to them and establish good relationship with them by explaining the purpose of the visit to the residents.Surveyors were advised to wear their ID cards while performing their duty.
Surveyors also advised not to leave any house while conducting the survey. If an entire family is temporarily unavailable (due to the absence of informants in the village/city at the time of their visit), Surveyors have to visit and have to gather information. If the information cannot be collected even after several visits, surveyors have to bring it to the attention of their supervisor and have to take action as per his/her instructions.
When surveyors visits any family, they should not rush to fill the questionnaire. Surveyors always be cheerful and briefly inform the person who is giving information about their visit and introduce themself. Before taking survey, they have to show their identity card and be friendly polite to obtain the information required for the survey.
Surveyors should not collect information from outsiders or organizations since this is a door-to-door survey.
The informants (male or female) should generally be knowledgeable and able to provide information about the family and information should not be collected from minors.
Surveyors must be patient while the family members are providing information and they should record the information correctly.
The information provided by the members should be entered in the mobile app according to the points mentioned in Form-3 and the specified code numbers.
