Today I write with a heart full of love and gratitude reflecting on the incredible life of my dear Mother in law, Late Mrs, Kodandera Thara Somaiah who passed away on 21st of March last. Though words can never truly capture the depth of my feelings, I want to take this moment to celebrate the woman she was, and the profound impact she had on all of us.
I want to take a moment to honour and express my deepest appreciation for a truly special woman- Though life has taken different turns. One of the greatest reflections of her love and devotion is raising her two sons. Her love extended into so many moments that have shaped all of us, especially the warmth of her lunch and Dinners. Those meals weren’t just about food- they were about family, laughter and the joy of being together. The smell of the simmering saucy pork on the stove, the golden crisp of fried chicken, the comfort of spicy Biriyanis, those weren’t just meals, they were her love served on a plate.
Â
She shared stories , created memories, as she felt the deep unconditional love that only a mother can provide. Those traditions live on in our hearts, especially in her Grand children, who carries her name with pride and continues to be a beautiful reflection of her.Â
She was a woman of grace, strength and unwavering support and her incredible way of making everyone feel at home was always with a open heart. She was not just a mother in law, but a mother, Grand mother and a teacher. She bore the burden willingly, forgoing her own comforts , and devoted herself to nurturing, guiding and supporting her children to provide them with good food, clothing and education. We, deeply respect and hold her in the highest regard, not merely due to her motherhood, but for her unparalleled devotion and incredible sacrifices that enabled all two of her sons reach their goals. Â
Her laughter, her smile and her comforting presence will always remain etched in our hearts. Even though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit lives on in the memories we have created, the lessons that she taught and the love she gave so freely.Â
Most of our precious memories are nothing but a fleeting glimpse into a world long gone- whispers Carried away by the tide, leaving behind only an echo, a faint trace of what once was. But even in their transience, these memories hold immense Power and can transport us back in time and make us feel alive once more.Â
Her love and guidance have created a legacy that lives through generations, we all are so grateful for the wisdom she shared, the love and the home she made feel like a place of warmth and belonging. Since her departure, every moment has been a poignant reminder of her absence. As we struggle to come to terms with the loss , we find solace in the cherished memories and valuable lessons shared. She was one of the strongest woman I had the privilege of knowing, who fought valiantly even till her death. Her love, her kindness and her incredible strength had made a lasting impression on all who knew her and her legacy will continue to inspire us everyday who will always be remembered, cherished and missed. We will forever be grateful for the gift of knowing her, for the love she gave and for the beautiful legacy she has left behind.Â
The content in my article is not only a tribute to my mother in law but to all those mothers whose endless and incredible sacrifices are unforgettable and remarkable.Â
