Kodagu District Police has succeeded in arresting persons who were illegally transporting 10 kg 390 grams of ambergris (whale vomit) worth an estimated Rs. 10 crore from Kerala.
Based on information about the illegal transportation of ambergris (whale vomit) from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in a vehicle under the jurisdiction of Virajpet town Police Station, Mahesh Kumar.S. ySP Virajpet Sub-Division, Anoop Madap.P, CPI, Virajpet Circle, Pramod.H.S. A team of PSI, Virajpet town Police Station staff and Virajpet circle level crime detection personnel in an joint opeartion formed team and conducted a raid on 10th of april near Heggala Junction in Betoli village and arrested 10 accused who were from Kerala and were illegally transporting 10 kg 390 ambergris (whale vomit) in a car.
A case has been registered at Virajpet town Police Station under Sections: 2(32), 2(36), 39(2)(3), 44, 48(2), 49(2), 49(2), 50, 51 and legal action has been taken..
