20-yr RI for raping minor girl to an accused

Tala (22) an accused, and a native of Assam origin who was working as a plantation labourer in Kodagu , was sentenced to Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) of 20 years by the Third Additional and Sessions Court for raping a minor girl.

A charge sheet was filed against him based on the complaint by the girl’s mother that the accused Tala  had lured the girl under the pretext of giving her a mobile phone and sexually assaulted her on July 20 last year.

After hearing the case, Judge C K Basavaraj gave  a judgement by  imposing  him for 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000. The Judge also gave a verdict that accused has to give  a compensation of Rs four lakh to the victim.
