Fire guts several acres of forest land

Several acres of forest land were gutted in Karadimoole forest recently. It is reported that the fire was initially noticed at Kabbinakadu’s Karadimoole on the periphery of
Marandoda-Yavakapadi villages.

The forest staff reached the area and tried to douse the fire but it could not be controlled.

RFO Devaiah, DRFO C T Anil, Forest guard Malathesh Badigar, camp staff Suresh, BR Bharath, B G Lathesh, Vikas, Mahesh Poojaru, gram panchayat members Harish Monnappa, K R Leelavathi, Nachappa, Krithika and Varuna were engaged in dousing the fire along with villagers.

RFO Devaiah said that they were trying their best to extinguish the fire and added that it is a challenge to douse fire in the scorching sun.
