The job fair was recently organised in association with the Kodagu district administration, Kodagu Zilla Panchayat, Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, District Skill Mission, Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society, District Government Industrial Training Institute at the ITI College, Madikeri
Around 24 companies and more then 750 job seekers attended job fair. MLA Dr Mantar Gowda, after inaugurating the job fair, advised candidates to make use of these types of Job fairs and to grab opportunities available in the present competitive era. Further, he said that everyone having a unique skill, should utilise it, effectively. Every one who gets job should have passion and respect for their job.
He informed that those applicants who were not given job should not be disappointed, candidates details would be referred to other companies for future opportunities. He also said that tourism and hospitality sectors are doing good in the district and more employment opportunities will be available in this field.
He also advised not to only depend on government jobs. A job in the initial years would hold good for future jobs, as a result of the experience gained in the earlier work done. One should work with dedication, which will finally lead to success.
