MP of Kodagu-Mysore Lok Sabha constituency, Yadavir Krishnadatt Chamaraja Wodeyar recently held a progress review meeting with officials on the Jala Jeven Mission.
( JJM) Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department’s at Madikeri District administrative office hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive Engineer R. Bhaskar said that there are a total of 457 rural residential project works in the district, of which 343 have been completed. He also informed that 112 works are in progress.
On the occasion Yadavir Krishnadatt Chamaraja Wodeyar, informed authorities, that as per records works are completed but there were complaints that in some residential areas from the tank and pipeline the water connections has not been done and requested explanations for this.
Executive Engineer Bhaskar said there was no multi -purpose drinking water project in Kodagu, borewells are used in the summer as a result, river water is being filtered and supplied as drinking water, in most of the villages.
A total of 12 work projects for Rs 885.35 crore have been submitted by the state government to the Central Ministry of Jala Shakti. Bhaskar on the occasion requested MP Wodeyar to wrote a letter to the Ministry of Water Power of the Central Government to get sanction for the works.
A proposal for Rs 5 crore has been submitted to the Central Office under the AT water mission Scheme for the year 2024-25, he added.
Responding to this, the MP informed that he will contact in-charge central government officials and work towards , for the approval of multi -purpose drinking water project.
In the meeting it was discussed to complete water projects works of Sampaje and Maragodu.
