The Kodagu police have succeeded in arresting three accused persons who were involved in the various theft cases of vehicle, jewellery and other items.
The arrested were KC Ashoka (35) of Kakkabbe Naladi village, K P Keerthi (25), a resident of Ayyappa Colony in Kibbetta village of Somwarpet and Riaz Sabu (26) of Ranger Block in Somwarpet.
From the accused persons CCTV DVR, Treasury Box, Rs. 930 worth of stamps, one Maruti Omni, two bikes, a tree chopping machine, an air gun, 200 kg of coffee, 250 kg of pepper, 30 grams of gold and 229 grams of silver were seized.
Recently at Virajpet Rural Police Station a case has been registered regarding post office theft at Bittangala village. A Maruti Omni vehicle was also stolen, which was parked in the house of Machaiah, a resident of Bittangala village.
Police who have registered two separate cases and started investigation and are successful in arresting the culprits with the stolen articles and vehicles .
When the accused were further interrogated, the police officers informed that they have done theft of gold-silver jewellery, two-wheeler and a tree cutting machine were stolen from Gonikoppa, Bhagmandala, Madikeri Rural and Kushalanagar Rural Police Stations limits.
Virajpet DYSP Mahesh Kumar, CPI Anoop Madappa, PSI Lata, Vanishree, Virajpet Rural Police Station and sub -divisional crime detectives and technical personnel conducted the investigation.
District Superintendent of Police K Ramarajan congratulated the team of police officers and staff.
