RECOMMENDED RULES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS

2. SLOGANEERING IS NOT ALLOWED NOR NECESSARY. THIS IS A SILENT MARCH. OUR MARCH IS TO SHOWCASE OUR COMMITMENT TO KODAVA CULTURE WHICH IS OUR COLLECTIVE IDENTITY AND WHAT HAS KEPT OUR SACRED LAND AS POMMALE KODAGU FOR TIME IMMEMORIAL.
3. Do not break the QUEUE WHILE WALKING. OUR DESTINATION IS THE SAME. DO NOT RUSH NOR PUSH AND BE CONSIDERATE TO ELDERS, DIFFERENTLY ABLED AND CHILDREN.
4. WEAR PROPER WALKING SHOES, for comfortable walking, MANDETHUNI, VASTRA, HATS & CAPS to protect your HEAD. BEAT the HEAT, DO NOT OVEREXERT YOURSELF LEADING TO MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS. If you are tired or exhausted please breakoff, take rest and then restart when comfortable. YOUR HEALTH & SAFETY IS OF PRIME CONCERN.
5. SHARE RESOURCES, TRAVEL IN VEHICLE POOLS, Bring Neighbours, Friends, Relatives in your Vehicle. KODAVAS ARE KNOWN FOR HOSPITALITY THE WORLD OVER – WALK THE TALK.
6. All payments to be made only to AKHILA KODAVA SAMAJA (AKS) ACCOUNT whose QR SCANNER is being shared in all groups. If you dont have QR SCANNER please ask me I shall share. No individual or any other organisation is authorised to collect any funds for this cause. Please avoid paying in cash unless otherwise inevitable. If cash payment is a must insist for a AKS RECEIPT IMMEDIATELY.
7. As a commitment to keeping our Landscape clean – Bring a carrybag and TAKE BACK GARBAGE/WASTE or DISPOSE IN DESIGNATED BINS.
PLEASE COME IN OUR TRADITIONAL DRESS KUPPYA CHAALE MANDETHUNI FOR MEN & KODAVA PODIYA VASTRA FOR LADIES. WEAR simple traditional Kodava Jewellery – if at all.
But if it’s inevitable that one cannot dress in traditional Kodava dress, please do not skip the KAAL NADP come in any comfortable dress of your choice. For example if there is a death in ANY CLAN and Maada is not yet over. Hence KUPPYA CHAALE and MANDETHUNI, cannot be worn as per KODAVA TRADITION since the entire family is under SOOTHGAA, please wear clothes of your choice.
