Flower show at Rajaseat … Sri Omkareshwar temple built from flowers catches the eye of the visitors

In the recently concluded flower show and exhibition which was organised by the Kodagu district administration,  Kodagu Zilla Panchayat and Horticulture department at Raja seat in Madikeri, a 22 feet high Omkareshwar Temple built in with around 5 lakh different species of flowers attracted the onlookers.  Kodagu honey, many fruit and flowers were also displayed in the flower show

Like last time Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B R Ambedkar, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Sir M. Visveswaraiah, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, General Thimayya, Guddemane Appiah Gowda, Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar, Subhash Chandra Bose,
Dr. Manmohan Singh, Kuvempu, Dr. Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Rohan Bopanna, Sachin Tandulkar and more than 50 gentlemen’s artworks and portraits made in fruits were special attractions of the show.

Around 7,000 thousand potted flowers and 20,000 different species of flowers have been grown in Raja seat Park as part of the Flower Show.

 

The artwork of the famous Sri Omkareshwar temple in Kodagu is 22 feet high, 30 feet long, 38 feet wide and decorated with around 5 lakh flowers of different colours of rose, sevanti, and aster species. Exhibition of various ornamental plants Bonsai, Ikebana flower arranging exhibitions were arranged.
