DC instructs officials to check the dilapidated residential houses of civil servants

Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja recently speaking at his office hall after presiding over the meeting of the District Awareness and Stewardship Committee, where the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Atrocities Control Association has been formed instructed the concerned officials to check the dilapidated residential houses of civil servants in the district and submit necessary proposals for construction of residential houses.

DC requested City Municipal Council, Municipality, Town Panchayat and other places in the district to collect information about the dilapidated state of the residential building of the civil servants and to submit a report. Besides, he directed to submit the necessary proposal to the government for the construction of the new building.

Speaking on the occasion, Palani Prakash, a member of the committee informed that the residential houses where civil servants reside in Madikeri Municipal Council, Virajpet and Kushalanagar Municipalities, Somwarpet Town Panchayat are old buildings and are in dilapidated state therefore, he requested that action should be taken to construct a new building.

He requested that houses should be provided to the families who were in engaged in civil service profession in the CMC, municipal council, town panchayat and gram panchayats.

Muthappa, a nominated member of the committee, speaking on the occasion said that there are a large number of homeless people in the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. They should be provided with 94C, revenue land title deeds. Some scheduled families are struggling to get benefits without RTC, so he requested to pay attention to this.

Speaking further, Muthappa said that there are many job seekers from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who have completed SSLC, PUC, graduation. He requested that they should be given vocational training.

Reacting to this, the DCinformed those who have completed graduation, post-graduation, diploma for the time being have the facility of Yuvanidhi and advised them to use it.

Speaking on the occasion one of the member PP Sukumar said that roads should be improved in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe colonies in this regard, he requested to take necessary measures for road construction.

Basappa, Municipal Commissioner Ramesh, Municipal Chief Chandrakath, Town Panchayat Chief Nachappa, Tashsildar Ramachandra, Mohan Kumar, PT E O Appanna, Assistant Director P V Srinivas, Committee members Dilip Kumar, Jeenukubara Kempa and others were present on the occasion.
