Sports Authority of India honours gold wining hockey team

Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja, Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan recently felicitated 19 hockey players who won gold medal on behalf of Sports Authority of India. Speaking on the occasion Dr Venkat Raja expressed appreciation and said that it is commendable that the students of Madikeri Sports Authority participated in the All India Inter Sai Hockey Tournament held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bangalore and won the gold medal. DC further said that it is a commendable that more encouragement is given to sports in Kodagu district and Kodagu is proud that the athletes here are making a name for themselves at the national and international level and congratulated them all. SP K. Ramarajan said that the students of Kodagu district should be encouraged to achieve more in Hockey and other sports also. Sports Authority of India Supervisor Mini Unniraj, Assistant Hockey Coach B M Komala and others were present on the occasion.
