Students from Kodagu district, representing Karnataka, delivered an impressive performance at the 3rd World Mixed Boxing Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal, winning gold, silver and bronze medals.
Kaushik Kumar U.C., Mohammed Yasin and Mohammed Hafeez won gold medals, while Ajay N.S., Manvit Mohan M., Shriyan Gowda D.H., Mitesh J. and Rithan D.S. secured silver medals. Satwik B.S. claimed the bronze medal.
A total of 21 athletes from Karnataka represented India in the championship. The Karnataka contingent won 10 gold, eight silver and three bronze medals, with nine participants hailing from Kodagu district.
The Kodagu athletes were trained under N.C. Sudarshan, General Secretary and coach of the Karnataka State Mixed Boxing Association.
