Kargil Vijay Divas celebrated by Rotary Misty Hills by lighting 527 lamps

Kagiil Victory Day was celebrated in an innovative way by lighting 527 lamps by Rotary Misty Hills in memory of the 527 soldiers who lost their lives in the battle of Kagiilatthe Gandhi Bhavan in Madikeri recently.

To remember those great brave soldiers who gave their life to save us, 527 lamps were lit by Members of Rotary and general public informed Rotary Misty Hills President Ponnachana Madhu.

On the occasion of Kagil Vijay Divas, retired army officer B K Lokesh and his wife Kalpana Lokesh, of Madikeri were honoured by Rotary Misty Hills.

Speaking on the occasion Lokesh, who was honoured said that it is a warrior who has always been honoured in the society even after the retirement from service. He also thanked the Rotary Mist Hills and other organisations for recognising soldiers even after their service to the nation.  Speaking further Lokesh, informed that he will pray to God, to give another chance in my next life to serve this nation as a soldier. He also informed that he named his children Cariappa and Thimmaiah in memory of late Field Marshal K.M.Cariappa and General Thimayya’s service to the country.

Speaking on the occasion a 9th class student Srisha of Sunticoppa praised touchingly about Manoj Kumar Bhatia, who died a heroic death in Kagilbattle, said that the sacrifices of Indian soldiers cannot be valued, their struggle is worth remembering always. She also said that when we see soldiers or ex-soldiers by saluting them,we must show our respect tothem about their selfless service to our country, explained Srisha.

Rotary Misty Hills President Ponnachana Madhu, secretary Kattemane Sonajith, Zonal Senani Anita Poovaiah, Program Coordinator Anil H.T., B.G., Anantashayana, Keshav Prasad Mulia,  Dr. Cheriyamane Prashant, K K, Vishwanath, Information and Publicity  Relations Officer Chinnaswamy, Kodagu Journalist Association President Muralidhar, Yoga teacher K. K.  Mahesh Kumar, Municipal Standing Committee Chairman S. C.  Sathish, Member Sabita, Scout and Guides Coordinator Ranjith, Ramesh Holla and many others were present on the occasion.
