Wild elephant rescued

The forest department personnel recently rescued a wild elephant, which fell into a pit near the residence of HA Ganesh in K Baigodu village of Virajpet taluk. The elephant was petrified and was struggling to come out of the pit and the mud around the pit was cleared using an excavator, to make way for the elephant. The pachyderm was later chased to Ayyappa Devarakadu Forest. DCF Jagannath, ACF Nehru, RFO Deavaiah and others took part in the rescue operation.
