Implement various programmes of the Governments within time frame…. Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar

Kodagu-Mysore MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar speaking  after  presiding over the District Development Coordination  Committee meeting held at the Kodagu  Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Hall in Madikeri recently has given a clear direction that various  programs such as Jaljeevan Mission, National Horticulture Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, NRLM, Sanjeevini, schemes from Lead Bank etc. have been implemented in various departments in Kodagu to progress adequately within the time frame.

Under the Jaljeevan Mission scheme, tap water should be provided to every house the MP said and directed the concerned department officials to compulsorily connect tap water from river source and other water sources.

MLC Suja Kushalappa, who intervened on the occasion, complained that water connection was not implemented perfectly in Chembebellur, Ontiangadi and other parts of Virajpet taluk and regarding Jaljeevan Mission project works, SujaKushalappa advised district level engineers should personally visit spot and check and report.  He also warned officials that it is not right to give information without visiting the place.

Speaking further Suja Kushalappa, said that Kodagu district is getting good rains and roadside branches of trees have grown and these branches on the roadside should be cut down. He also instructed the Public Works Department engineers to fill the pothole at the earliest. 

Speaking on the occasion, Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC)Dr Venkat Raja said that in the past the wood blocks were being taken away in small vehicles and informed that necessary action will be taken in this regard, he added. 

Wodeyar raised the issue regarding the Mysore-Kushalanagar four lane road and sought information from the DC about the stage of this project. Reacting to this DC Dr Venkat Raja informed that the land acquisition process is almost complete and compensation is pending in some cases and added that the permission from the forest department is also to be obtained.  

Speaking on the occasion BSNL manager informed in the meeting that construction of 63 new towers has been sanctioned by BSNL in Kodagu district, out of which more than 30 towers have been constructed.  He also informed that tower construction is pending in various areas including Nagarhole. 

Speaking on the occasion Suja Kushalappa after collecting information from Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), said that it is difficult to manage solar power in hilly areas including Kodagu. Therefore, he suggested that the demand for electricity should be met in Kodagu.  

He also said that many solar equipment was lost due to wild elephant attack on the forest edge. He suggested to submit a report to the government in this regard and informed that he will raise the issue in the House. He also suggested to provide power connection to the pending Ganga welfare projects. 

CESC Executive Engineer Anita Bai informed that necessary steps have been taken regarding electricity maintenance during rainy season. She said that electric poles and transformers have been kept in stock and informed that pending works under Ganga Kalyan Yojana will be completed and electricity will be supplied in two months.

The district administration has taken necessary measures to deal with drought during summer and natural calamities during monsoon informed Additional Deputy Commissioner BN Veena and added that necessary action has been taken to distribute the compensation. 

MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar said that the monsoon has already been good in the district and suggested sowing seeds and fertilizer must be supplied. 

MLC Suja Kushalappa also directed to supply the required plants to the farmers in the district including pepper supplied by the horticulture department. 

Lead Bank Manager Gangadhara Naik informed that centrally funded schemes such as Mudra, PM Swanidhi, Ujwala, Jan Suraksha Yojana and other schemes are in progress.  

Speaking on the occasion District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Satish Kumar informed about the measures taken to control dengue in the district. He also said that   125 cases have been reported in the district, and most of dengue were found in Ponnampet and Kushalanagar. Speaking on the occasion, DC Dr Venkat Raja said that larval survey is being done everywhere in the district. King fogging is done in city and town areas, he added. 

The MP, who was informed about the opening of the critical care centre at the district headquarters, Madikeri, suggested that the work should be carried out as soon as possible. 

MP also pointed out that in the forest areas lantanas should be cleared.  There was a report of felling of trees in Talacauvery which is sensitive wildlife area and the MP suggested to take necessary action regarding it. 

Reacting to it Deputy Conservator of Forests Jagannath informed that the final charge sheet has been submitted in this case.  

MLA of Madikeri Assembly Constituency Dr. Mantar Gowda, GP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, Additional Superintendent of Police Sundarraj, Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narwade and various department officials were present in the meeting.
