Villagers allege cow slaughter as cow hide found on the roadside

A cow hide was recently found discarded on the roadside near Kolakeri temple in Morikadu and the villagers in the NapokluGram Panchayat (GP) limits have alleged of illegal cow slaughtering.

The villagers also said that though complaints were submitted to the concerned authorities against illegal cow slaughter, no action was initiated.

Biddatanda Rosy Chinnappa convener of Kodagu HakkuSamrakshana Samiti alleged that the miscreants killed the cow, removed the meat and discarded the hide and added that due to the discarding of waste, the water has been contaminated in Kolakeri region. The residents have been alleging an illegal cow slaughter racket. But the officials have failed to take action.
