More than 120 players participated in the tournament held in various categories at Forestry college Ponnampet. Inaugurating the tournament, the Dean of Forestry College Dr. G M Devagiri, wishing students suggested that they should accept all the wins and losses of the tournament equally and rise to the top position. Indian hockey player K T Mohan was present on the occasion.
Later during the closing ceremony of the tournament Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, Dr. Mahesharappa, Assistant Professor of Forestry college, Librarian Subramani, Ponnampet Election Officer Mahesh Holla, Honorary President of Kodagu District Table Tennis Association V. S. Mohammad Asif and P. L. Manjunath, K. N. Praveen Shet were present on the occasion and distributed prizes to the winners. Â
Result of winners are as follows: U-10 boys’ category, Chiranjeevi first, Darshan second in K. Lipika first, Lavanya second in girl’s category,
U-15 K.Litash first, Avanish second in boy’s category, Sinchana first and Lochana second in girl’s category.
In the U-18 youth category, Sahde Shabir got the first prize, K. Leetesh got the second prize.
U-25 youth categoryRakshita got the first prize and Sinchana got the second prize in the female student category. Rachan Ponnappa first, KA Eshwar second in open category, Rachan Ponnappa and Derrick first in men’s open doubles, Manjunath and Varun Sudhakar second, Eshwar and Rakshita first in mixed doubles, Rachan Ponnappa and Namitha came second.
Thangamma and Reeth Ganapathy first in women’s open doubles. Namitha and Manasa got the second position.
Praveen Shet got the first position and Muhammad Asif got the second position in the above 50 years category.Â
