Continued elephant census

Elephant census being conducted in Madikeri, Virajpet and Nagarahole forests continued and on the second day, the census was conducted on line transect methodology. The staff documented the elephant dung and elephants that were spotted during the census in their 2 km beat.

Of a total of 98 beats in Madikeri Regional and Wildlife division, 23 teams in Mundrotu, Thitimati, Ponnampet, Virajpet and Makutta ranges and all the beats in Nagarahole simultaneously conducted the census.
