Garwale Kodava Samaja and Elnad Kodava Sanghs of Bengaluru have demanded that the recent murder case of student Meena in Kumbaragadige of Surlabbi in Somwarpet taluk should be handed over to the CID for investigation. Speaking at the press conference, president of Elnad Kodava Sanghs of Bengaluru Mandeera Bopaiah alleged that the district police is not conducting proper investigation regarding the murder of student Meena.

Sarkanda Somayya, Director of Garwale Kodava Samaja, said that the incident of killing a student by slitting her neck is an act that brings shame to the entire humanity. The investigation into the incident by the police has raised many doubts. He questioned why it was not possible to find Meena’s severed head, which was found a short distance away from where the weapon used in the crime was found.  The person who brought the accused in the vehicle is a local influential person. He alleged that even though the vehicle has been seized by the police, the person who was with the accused is still at large without proper questioning, and demanded that the person who was with the accused who committed the crime be arrested and proper questioning and investigation must be conducted.

Somaiya also said that such an incident should not happen again and would submit a request to the Chief Minister, two MLAs of the district, the Deputy commissioner and the District Superintendent of Police demanding that the case be handed over to the CID for investigation.  Secretary of Garwale Kodava Samaj Tachamanda Erappa, Vice President of Elnad Kodava Sangh Aimudianda Bhimaiah, Treasurer Kannikanda Devaiah and Joint Secretary Gaudanda Kunnappa were present in the press conference.
