The 80th Independence Day celebrations organised by the Kodagu District Administration were held at the Fort premises in Madikeri recently. Karnataka Government Agriculture Minister and Kodagu District In-charge Minister P.M. Narendraswamy hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering.
MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda presided over the function. State Vice President of the Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority S.R. Mehroz Khan, Madikeri Municipal Council President Kalavathi P, District President of the Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee T.M. Dharmaja Uthappa, Air Marshal (Retd) Nanda Cariappa, Deputy Commissioner S.J. Somashekar, G.P. CEO Anand Prakash Meena, District Superintendent of Police R.N. Bindumani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sahana S. Hadimani, ex-servicemen, district and taluk officials, students and others participated.
