Four days of intense competition, exceptional skill and memorable sporting moments unfolded at KALS as the school hosted the CISCE Regional Hockey Championship 2026 from August 11 to 14.
The championship brought together 792 participants representing 19 schools from across the Karnataka-Goa Region, providing a platform for young hockey players to showcase their talent, technical ability and tactical acumen. Throughout the tournament, the players demonstrated impressive stick work, determination and a strong competitive spirit.
KALS concluded the championship on a high note, securing the championship title in all four categories—Under-14 Boys, Under-17 Boys, Under-17 Girls and Under-19 Boys. The clean sweep marked a significant achievement for the school and reflected the players’ commitment, discipline and sustained effort on the field.
The achievement was further strengthened by the dedicated efforts of KALS coaches Mr. A. K. Chetan and Mr. A. D. Cariappa, whose expertise, guidance and commitment have played a key role in developing the school’s hockey teams.
Adding to the success, 26 Kalian players, nurtured and trained through Ashwin’s Sports Foundation (ASF), have been selected to represent the Karnataka-Goa Region at the CISCE National Hockey Championship 2026.
The selection marks another important milestone for the young athletes, who will now carry the KALS spirit to the national stage. Their performance at the regional championship reflects the growing strength of hockey at KALS and the value of sustained training, mentorship and competitive exposure.
