A private bus driver died of a heart attack while driving on the national highway near Talathamane close to Madikeri.
The deceased has been identified as Shivakumar (50), a native of Bengaluru.
The bus was travelling from Madikeri to Sulya at around 4.45 a.m. when Shivakumar reportedly suffered a heart attack near Talathamane. The bus subsequently went out of control and veered towards the roadside embankment. Around 20 passengers travelling in the bus escaped unhurt. Shivakumar is said to have died shortly after suffering the cardiac arrest.
Madikeri Rural Police have registered a case.
