The new “Namma Gromor Centre,” a coffee speciality store, catering to planters of Kodagu was officially opened on April 17, 2026, at Arji in Virajpet. Coromandel International has set a significant milestone with the inauguration of its 1200th retail outlet in Kodagu district. The new outlet, located on Arji Main Road in Arji Village, aims to cater to the needs of local farmers and the coffee-growing community by offering specialized products and services.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman and Mr. Sankarasubramanian S, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Coromandel International Limited and Sridevi, Director of Coffee Board, Gonikoppa.
Renowned coffee entrepreneur I K Anil, Founder of Kuttappa Coffee, Co-founder of the Indian Vanilla Initiative, and Editor-in-Chief of Coffeeland News, was the the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest, Mr. I.K. Anil said that;
Climate is no longer a background factor — it has moved to centre stage We are already seeing this locally — through changing weather patterns, increased variability, and new pest challenges. And current projections indicate that the next six weeks could be among the hottest India has experienced. For planters and farmers in Coorg, this means one thing — they need to adapt, and adapt quickly.
He further emphasized that, the way forward will require:

• More efficient inputs and practices
• And openness to new crops and technologies
In that context, he said – platforms like this ‘Namma Gromor store’ can play a meaningful role by improving access and support at the ground level.
Mr. Sankarasubramanian S stated that Coramandel is known for providing quality products, reliable services, and trustworthy solutions, and added that the company will endeavor to make a meaningful difference to the planter community through its offerings.
Sridevi, Director of the Coffee Board, Gonikoppa, said that Coramandel enjoys a strong reputation for its ethics, quality, and fair pricing. She noted that with the opening of its store in Kodagu, planters in the region are expected to benefit.
