The fourth Kodava Book Depository establishment programmeorganised by the Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy was held at the Murnadu Kodava Samaj. The programme was held under the chairmanship of Telapanda C. Subbaiah, President of Moornadu Kodava Samaj, and was inaugurated by Kodava Sahitya Academy President Ajnikanda C. Mahesh Nachaiah by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Nachaiah said that the initiative aims not only to preserve books written in the Kodava language but also to collect and preserve books written about Kodavas in other languages for research and study.

He expressed hope that the Kodava Book Depository would become a valuable repository of knowledge about the Kodava community and serve as a resource centre for future researchers.
The book depository was formally inaugurated by Kodava Samaj President Telapanda C. Subbaiah in the presence of chief guests Pemmadiyanda Venu Appanna and Pommakkad Union President Palanga Ada Vani Thammaiah.
Speaking on the occasion, Venu Appanna appreciated the initiative of the Kodava Academy, stating that establishing book depositories in homes across Kodagu will encourage the habit of reading and help preserve literary works for future generations.
Subbaiah said the academy’s initiative would help develop a culture of reading and provide opportunities to learn about the community’s history and culture.
On the occasion, the president of the Kodava Samaj donated Rs. 10,000 to the academy for the registration of the book depository, and the registration form was handed over to the society.
Academy members Kambeyada Deena Bojanna, KudiyadaKaaverappa, Panikuttira Kuttappa, Napanda Ganesh and Nayandira Shivaji were present.
Academy member Kondijammana Balakrishna welcomed the gathering, Chotteyanda Sanju Kaaverappa compered the programme, Choyamadanda Naveen offered the invocation and Balakrishna delivered the vote of thanks.
