A training workshop on the District Human Development Report and Sustainable District Development Vision Plan was held recently at the Zilla Panchayat Hall in Madikeri.
Addressing the participants, Z P CEO Anand Prakash Meena stated that the statistical data provided by district-level officials would play a crucial role in shaping future projects and development initiatives in Kodagu district. He instructed the concerned departments to ensure that accurate and verified information related to the report is submitted by February 2026.

State-level resource person Dr. Ganesh Prasad informed that 117 categories of data are being collected for the preparation of a comprehensive and sustainable district development report. He noted that the allocation of funds to villages, taluks, and Zilla Panchayats would be determined based on the findings of the Human Development Report. He stressed the importance of accurately recording indicators such as infant mortality, maternal deaths, and school dropout rates.
Dr. Navitha Thimmaiah, Professor at the University of Mysore, and Mallikarjuna Swamy, Coordinator of the reports, stated that officials must identify multiple parameters and provide subject-wise data and statistics. It was explained that education and health would be treated as fundamental criteria, based on data received from various departments.
Assistant Commissioner Nitin Chakki, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Nabhi, along with district and taluk-level officials, were present at the workshop.
