The election schedule has been announced for selecting eight members from among the elected representatives of Urban Local Bodies to the Kodagu District Planning Committee. Candidates may submit their nomination papers in prescribed Form-1 to the Chief Executive Officer of the Kodagu Zilla Panchayat, who has been appointed as the Returning Officer. The Planning Director of the District Urban Development Cell, Kodagu, has been designated as the Assistant Returning Officer.
The nomination process will be held on January 2 from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the Kodagu Zilla Panchayat KDP Hall. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on the same day from 4.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 3 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
If required, polling will be conducted on January 5 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., followed by counting of votes from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the KDP Hall, said Anand Prakash Meena, Returning Officer of the Kodagu District Planning Committee and Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat.
