Chief Minister’s Legal Advisor and Virajpet MLA Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna was felicitated by Kodagu Kembatti Samaj President Mollekuttanda Dinu Bojappa in recognition of his sincere efforts to fulfil the 75-year-old demand of the Kodagu Kembatti community.
The Kodagu Kembatti community, which speak the Kodava language, has been receiving caste certificates under the Adi Karnataka category. Following a meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister and assurances to recommend to the Centre that caste certificates be issued under the community’s original name, ‘Kembatti’, the MLA was felicitated at his office in Vidhana Soudha.
