The Graduation Ceremony of the II PUC students of Coorg Public School and Pre-University was held with grace and solemnity recently. The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by a message in verse, a warm welcome address, and the formal introduction of the Chief Guest, Honourable Vice- Chancellor of Kodagu University, Prof. Ashok Sangappa Alur, setting a momentous tone for the occasion.
The event was enriched by cultural performances, including an English choir, Kannada choir, and Hindi choir, along with thoughtful speeches by students, reflecting their gratitude, aspirations, and sense of achievement.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief-Guest, Professor Ashok Sangappa Alur remarked that Graduation Day is not merely an academic milestone but a turning point in the journey of young minds-a day of achievement and gratitude. He described graduation as the culmination of countless early mornings, sleepless nights, and quiet perseverance of students, emphasising that it signifies self-discovery rather than mere examination success. He acknowledged the patience and guidance of teachers and the unseen sacrifices of parents as the silent forces behind every graduate’s success. Stressing the values that epitomise Coorg-discipline, service, and valour, he urged students to carry themselves with courage, honesty, and humility, to wear the “uniform of service and integrity,” and to emerge as responsible citizens of the nation. He also spoke on 21st-century education as a lifelong journey, shaped by emerging fields such as AI and biotechnology, while underscoring compassion as the strongest foundation. Distinguishing clearly between knowledge and wisdom, Prof. Alur encouraged students to apply learning meaningfully in life, even through failures, citing Bharat Ratna Late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam as an example of persistence and purposeful success. He further encouraged exploration of diverse disciplines, including agriculture, horticulture, and veterinary sciences, and emphasised the shared responsibility of protecting nature and biodiversity.
The Principal, Dr. M Ramachandran administered the Graduation Oath, inspiring the students to step into the larger world with responsibility and integrity. The ceremony also celebrated excellence: the Teachers’ Excellence Award was conferred on Trisha Aiyappa K, Shringa T C, and Divish D, while the Principal’s Excellence Award was presented to Sana Poonacha and Abhinav B Nair.
The programme concluded with the Presidential Address by K Dhanya Subbaiah, President of the School Trust, who quoted, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” and reminded the graduands that dreams are limitless.
The ceremony concluded on a proud and hopeful note, celebrating accomplishments while wishing the graduating students success in all their future endeavors.
