The Annual General Body Meeting and get-together of the Old Students’ Association of Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa College was recently inaugurated by Prof. P.L. Dharma, Chancellor of Mangalore University.
Prof. Dharma praised the institution for producing achievers of national and international calibre and urged alumni to contribute collectively towards its growth. He said Kodagu’s natural beauty and the innate creativity of its people have shaped the college’s distinguished identity. He emphasized that development of the institution is a shared responsibility and encouraged students to pursue higher education within Kodagu instead of migrating to other districts.

Prof. Ashok Sangappa Alura, Vice Chancellor of Kodagu University, said the alumni meet serves as an important platform for exchanging experiences and contributing to the institution. He noted that several development projects for the college are underway.
Principal Major Prof. Raghav B. highlighted that despite limited government funding, the college’s alumni association continues to serve as its backbone by actively supporting various college activities.

Alumni Association President Bollajira B. Aiyappa, who presided, said that strengthening alumni participation is essential for the college’s progress. Other dignitaries including secretary Chandan Nandarabettu, directors Lohit Magalu, Dishant Galibeedu, Kelettira Devaiah, Adarsh Adkalegar, Cheekapoovanda Sachin Poovaiah, Charan Balayada, B.G. Harshit, Karavanda Seema Ganapathy, Khurshid Banu K.H., and S.R. Vatsala were present.
Several faculty members promoted to principal grade-Major Raghav B., Prof. E. Thippeswamy, Prof. Gayatri Devi A., Prof. Sridhar Heggade, Prof. Krishna M.P., Prof. Nayana Kashyap-and high-performing students and sportspersons were felicitated. Guests Prof. P.L. Dharma, Dr. Shani and Prof. Ashok Sangappa Alura were also honoured.

Awards were distributed to winners of NCC competitions, volleyball tournaments, essay writing and rangoli competitions.
Earlier, the general body meeting chaired by Bollajira B. Aiyappa resolved to increase membership and construct a dedicated building for the association. The annual report was presented by Secretary Chandan Nandarabettu.
