A grand sports meet will be organised at Cheyyandane as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations. The events will be held on November 2 and from November 6 to 8 at the Government Primary School grounds in Cheyyandane.
A new organising committee has been formed to conduct the sports meet. Chenanda Sampath has been elected president, Cheyyanda Nanda Nachappa vice-president, Kuttana Sunil general secretary, Biddanda Chiyanna (Namu) treasurer, and Beliyandra Hariprasad coordinator.
Office-bearers for various subcommittees have also been selected to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
The committee aims to bring together residents of Nariyandada, Kokkeri and Chelavara villages and organise the sports meet successfully with everyone’s cooperation. This year, the organisers plan to make the event more elaborate than in previous years.
The sports meet is intended to encourage rural sporting talent, develop an interest in sports among young people, and strengthen unity and goodwill among villagers.
The committee has appealed to villagers, youth and sports enthusiasts to participate in large numbers and contribute to the success of the event.
