Bananda Prathyu has been elected unopposed as chairman of the Bhagamandala Temple Management Committee.
At a meeting of the eight-member management committee held on the temple premises, Chodumada Raja Aiyanna proposed Bananda Prathyu’s name. The other members unanimously approved the proposal and elected him.
Following his election, temple Executive Officer Chandrashekar formally handed over charge to the newly elected chairman.
Speaking on the occasion, Prathyu appealed to all committee members to work together to preserve the sanctity of the Tala Kaveri and Bhagamandala temples and further develop these sacred places of religious significance with the cooperation of the people.
He said the committee had a responsibility to ensure that devotees faced no inconvenience during this year’s Theerthodbhava festival. With the support of district representatives and the district administration, all necessary arrangements had already been made for the devotees visiting the sacred site, he added.
