Comments:

Residents of Ayyangeri village have expressed growing concern over the increasing movement of wild elephants in the area, alleging that the Forest Department has failed to take effective action despite repeated complaints.    According to the villagers, wild elephants have been frequently entering agricultural fields over the past several days, causing extensive damage to standing paddy crops. Farmers who have suffered heavy losses have expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of timely intervention by the Forest Department.

The villagers said the continued presence of elephants within the village limits has created fear among residents and demanded that the Forest Department implement permanent measures to prevent the recurring incidents.

Forest Personnel Visit

Forest Department officials visited Ayyangeri village on Wednesday to assess the situation. With the cooperation of local residents, the officials launched an operation to drive the elephants back into the forest.

The villagers have urged the department to adopt long-term mitigation measures to ensure the safety of both residents and their agricultural lands.
