Baleyada Poonacha was felicitated by the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, Justice Vibhu Bakhru, in recognition of his distinguished and dedicated service to the department, at a function held at Bangalore. Poonacha is currently serving as the Superintendant of Customs, CBIC (Bangalore Zone).
Poonacha has represented India in hockey at the international level. He was honored for setting an exemplary standard within the department.
