To commemorate World Olympic Day, Coorg Public School organised a Mini Olympic Marathon on 23rd June 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of Classes V to II PUC, who came together to celebrate the spirit of fitness, perseverance and sportsmanship.
While flagging off the Olympics Day Mini Marathon, Principal, Dr. M Ramachandran exhorted the students and physical education teachers to inherit and internalise the great values of olympics like friendship, excellence and respect.
He further referred to this year’s theme of olympics day, ‘You can do this. Let’s Move”.
The marathon was conducted with great enthusiasm and participants displayed remarkable determination throughout the race. In the boys’ category, Abhinand of Grade IX secured the first position. Likith Sagar of I PUC Science finished as the runner-up, while Sathvik Sardesai claimed the third position.
In the girls’ category, Smira of Grade VIII emerged victorious, securing the first place. Khushi of Grade X finished second, followed by Tvisha of Grade VII, who secured the third position.
Adding to the spirit of the occasion, Dr M. Ramachandran, the Principal of the school, also participated in the marathon. The Resident Manager, Somaiah C S, Chermana K M and Sports Faculty members were present throughout the event, encouraging and supporting the participants.
The Mini Olympic Marathon was a resounding success, inspiring students to embrace an active lifestyle and uphold the true values of the Olympic movement.
