MLA Ponnanna Visits Family of Woman Killed in Elephant Attack, Orders Immediate Action

Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna rushed to Lopamudra Hospital upon learning of the incident and met the family members of the deceased to offer his condolences.

The MLA also enquired about the condition of plantation workers who sustained injuries while attempting to escape from the elephant attack and instructed hospital authorities to provide them with the best possible medical treatment.

During discussions with Forest Department officials, Ponnanna directed them to take immediate steps to capture the elephant responsible for the attack and to drive away wild elephants that have been camping in plantations and residential areas.

He stressed the need for urgent and coordinated action to prevent further loss of human life and to address the growing concerns of residents living in elephant-prone regions of the district.
