Kodagu’s Vishal Uthappa and Mysuru’s Hansika Rakesh Win Silver at All India Badminton Tournament

Hyderabad: Young badminton players Boppanda Vishal Uthappa of Kodagu and Hansika Rakesh of Mysuru brought laurels to Karnataka by securing the silver medal in the Under-15 Mixed Doubles category at the prestigious Yonex Sunrise Sub-Junior All India Tournament.

The national-level championship was held at the renowned Kotak Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad, Telangana, under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and in association with the Telangana Badminton Association.

The achievement is being hailed as a significant milestone for the two young budding shuttlers, who showcased impressive skill, determination and teamwork throughout the tournament to finish runners-up in a highly competitive field.

Both Vishal and Hansika are currently training at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad, one of India’s premier badminton training centres, where they continue to refine their game under expert guidance.

Reaching the podium at a major national tournament at the Under-15 level is seen as a promising indication of their potential and future prospects in Indian badminton.
