The Codava National Council will launch a campaign from May 1 demanding separate Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies for Kodavas, its President N.U. Nachappa said.
The campaign will commence with special prayers at Talakaveri, a sacred site for the Kodava community.
Nachappa outlined a series of demands, including political representation, recognition of Kodava identity, inclusion of Kodava Language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, and protection of cultural and religious heritage.
He stated that the CNC has been pursuing these objectives peacefully for over three decades and would intensify efforts through a structured campaign across the region.
