Kushalnagar Fire Station Issues Public Safety Advisory Notice

Comments:

The Kushalnagar Fire Station has issued a public advisory urging residents, particularly students and youth, to refrain from swimming in the Cauvery river and nearby backwaters.

Since the Kushalnagar taluk lies along the Cauvery river, water flow remains strong, especially during this period. Authorities have expressed concern over incidents of drowning involving school children, college students, and local residents during the summer.

With educational institutions currently on vacation, the likelihood of such incidents increases. Officials cautioned that individuals are often unaware of the river’s depth and current strength, which can lead to panic and breathing difficulties while swimming.

The Fire Station has therefore appealed to all citizens to strictly avoid entering the river and to prioritise safety informed. Ranjit N.A., Fire Station Officer, Kushalnagar Fire Station in a press release.
