Sainik School Kodagu Conducts ‘Kodagian Football Tournament’

The Kodagian Football Tournament 2026 was successfully conducted at Sainik School Kodagu from 27 to 29 March 2026, witnessing enthusiastic participation and high sporting spirit among young cadets.

The tournament featured teams from Sainik School Kodagu (Junior and Sub Junior categories), Air Force School Jalahalli, Air Force School Hebbal, and Rashtriya Military School, Bangalore. The event provided a competitive platform for budding footballers to showcase their skills, teamwork, and discipline.

The tournament commenced with an impressive opening ceremony, where the Chief Guest, Col Amar Jeet Singh, Principal of Sainik School Kodagu, addressed the participants and encouraged them to uphold the values of sportsmanship and fair play.

After a series of closely contested matches, Sainik School Kodagu emerged as the winners in the Junior category, while Air Force School Hebbal secured the Runners-Up position.

Individual excellence was also recognised during the tournament. Cadet Prajwal S of Sainik School Kodagu was awarded the Best Player, and Arya Chiray Gowda of Sainik School Kodagu was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper for his outstanding performance.

The closing ceremony was graced by Wg Cdr P Prakash Rao, Administrative Officer of Sainik School Kodagu, who felicitated the winners and participants. The winning team was awarded the trophy, gold medals, and certificates, while the runners-up received the trophy, silver medals, and certificates. The Best Player and Best Goalkeeper were presented with mementoes, gold medals, and certificates. All other participants were awarded participation certificates.

The tournament was sponsored by Canara Bank, Kudige, whose support contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the event.

The Kodagian Football Tournament 2026 was witnessed by Wg Cdr Mohammad Shaji, the Vice Principal, Sainik School Kodagu, Senior Master, escorting staff of participating teams, all academic, administrative staff and cadets. The Tournament concluded on a high note, fostering camaraderie, discipline, and the true spirit of sports among all participants.
