Areyada Girish Thimmaiah of Yavakapadi village has achieved the remarkable feat of climbing Tadiyandamol peak over 100 times.

Standing at 1,748 metres above sea level, Tadiyandamol is one of Kodagu’s highest peaks. Girish began guiding trekkers in the 1990s and has since led numerous groups, including students and tourists.

Despite undergoing spinal surgery, he reflects on his experiences fondly, including encounters with wildlife during treks.

Apart from trekking, Girish has been active in sports, social service, writing, and photography. His literary contributions span decades and have earned recognition, including inclusion in academic curricula.
