Deputy Commissioner S.J. Somashekhar visited Raja’s Seat Park, a prime tourist attraction, and conducted an inspection on Friday.

He reviewed facilities at Greater Raja’s Seat, the miniature railway line, and Coorg Village, and gathered information on ongoing development works. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ticket counter, information centre, CCTV systems, and entry gate within the park.

Noting that exposed CCTV and electrical wiring across the park was affecting the park’s aesthetic appeal, he directed the Deputy Director of Horticulture to undertake immediate repairs. He also instructed that wiring be placed underground, defective lighting be repaired, and decorative lighting be installed.

He further directed officials to take necessary steps to operationalise the miniature train at the earliest. During his visit to the Coorg Village shopping area, he suggested organising events such as mango fairs, fruit and flower exhibitions, and instructed officials to coordinate with relevant departments to implement these initiatives.

Deputy Director of Horticulture Shashidhara briefed him on developmental works at Rajaseat, Greater Raja’s Seat, and Coorg Village. Assistant Director Muthappa and other officials were present.
