Bangadumane Vasanthi Wins Gold and Silver at Thailand Masters Athletics

Bangadumane Vasanthi, a retired superintendent of nursing homes from Madikeri, brought laurels to Kodagu district by winning one gold and one silver medal at the 30th Thailand Masters Athletics, an international-level competition held recently at Ratchaburi Stadium in Thailand.

She secured the medals in the 60-plus age category.

A total of 1,024 athletes from 10 countries, including India, Philippines, USA, Netherlands, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand, participated in the event.

Two athletes from Kodagu district, including Vasanthi, took part in the competition.
