Virajpet MLA and Legal Advisor to the Chief Minister Ajjikuttira S. Ponnanna called upon women to enforce the spirit of International Women’s Day into everyday life and actively contribute to society.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the International Women’s Day celebration organised by the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) Management Unit of Virajpet and Ponnampet taluks at the Umamaheshwari Temple Hall in Gonikoppal. After inaugurating the programme, the MLA said that while International Women’s Day is celebrated once a year, its true purpose lies in implementing the ideals of equality and empowerment in daily life.
He noted that women play an important role in all spheres of modern society and expressed hope that women across the country would actively participate in community-oriented initiatives and contribute to overall development.
