The Coorg Wildlife Society (CWS) has announced the 6th edition of the Brahmagiri Bird Survey, inviting bird enthusiasts and nature lovers to participate in a two-day field study documenting the rich avian diversity of the Western Ghats.
The survey will be held on March 7 and 8, 2026, in Thora range of Brahmagiri in Virajpet. The initiative aims to contribute to citizen science while offering participants hands-on experience in field identification and guided birding walks through the forests of Coorg.
The survey seeks to systematically document birdlife in the Brahmagiri landscape, a biodiversity-rich stretch of the Western Ghats known for its endemic and migratory species. Participants will have the opportunity to learn field techniques, observe species in their natural habitats, and contribute valuable data for conservation efforts.
Organisers have informed that slots are limited and early registration is encouraged.
